I doubt the sterilisation thing is true, unless it was an over zealous local official (often a local official does something stupid and western media starts depicting it as national policy). I saw a news report in China on TV highlighting the start of a local Uyghur festival in Urumqi. So they clearly aren’t trying to pretend like they don’t exist. They seem to take pride in their ethnic minorities over there from what I’ve observed.

Except you pulled a “but akshually ☝️🤓” when someone brought up the USA and Israel. You can make a case both are worse than China
